FAQS Frequently Asked Questions

Why Vanity & Queens Home?

When I first began crafting products with essential oils, it was still a novelty for most people. Few could tell the difference between an essential oil and a synthetic fragrance. Whenever I explained my choice of using natural plant oils, it was often dismissed as a luxury or “just a vanity”—not something essential for the home.

And so, Vanity and Queens was born.

Over the years—especially during the pandemic—more people began seeking out natural, wellness-centered alternatives. Botanical oils and essences found their way into the mainstream, becoming everyday staples in health-conscious homes.

Today, Vanity and Queens has become a trusted name in many Filipino households. But the name remains a reminder of our pioneering mission: to make clean, natural home and personal care accessible and affordable for every family—not just a privileged few.

Do you support any communities or charities?

The communities that we support are our suppliers and workers. By giving them our business, we help uplift their socio economic condition and provide opportunities.

Most of all, our support goes in full to our customers, that is why there is no mark up for donations. This is because the driving force behind our brand is to enable as many people access to clean, healthy home and wellness products which are traditionally out of reach and exclusive only to the well to do.

Are you totally sustainable and plastic free?

No, not yet. While that is the goal, the immediate goal is less toxins, healthier products, and more sustainable BUT affordable packaging. That is why we currently use a combination of reusable  and  biodegradable packaging while keeping cost within reach of the average home.

Are the products hypoallergenic?

No. Our products are natural, made without synthetic toxins or harsh chemicals—but they’re not labeled “hypoallergenic.”

Here’s why: botanical essential oils, though rich in therapeutic benefits, can still trigger sensitivities in some individuals. Hypoallergenic products are typically stripped of active, nourishing ingredients to reduce allergic risk, but this also removes much of their healing potential.

Our formulations are aromatherapeutic—meaning they’re designed to support wellness through natural plant-based actives. We always recommend a patch test before use.

What are the benefits of aromatherapy?

Our products are enriched with botanical essential oils that offer multiple benefits:

Healing and nourishing for the skin
Strengthening and anti-aging for the body
Soothing and calming for the mind
Inhalation of essential oils may help relieve stress, anxiety, pain, and sleep issues. Aromatherapy is a time-honored way to nurture both body and soul—naturally.

Are you completely sustainable and plastic-free?

Not yet—but that is the long-term goal.

Right now, our focus is on reducing toxins, using healthier ingredients, and finding sustainable yet affordable packaging. We currently use a mix of reusable and biodegradable packaging, always with the intention of keeping products within the average home’s budget.

We believe sustainability should be practical—not performative—and always inclusive.

Is SLES bad for the skin?

Is SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate) harmful to the skin?

SLES is a powerful, stable, and effective cleanser. In small amounts, it typically causes no immediate harm—though some may experience dryness or irritation. However, long-term exposure may lead to skin peeling, itching, or in hair products, even hair fall. There are also concerns about its potential link to carcinogens in some formulations.

While I appreciate the efficiency, affordability, and biodegradability of SLES, I now reserve its use for products with minimal skin contact, such as laundry liquids for machine use. For personal care, we prefer gentler alternatives that prioritize skin health.
